Fund Raising
Organising your Fundraising Event
The MWSRP needs everyone who really cares about conserving wildlife, their eco-system and improving less fortunate communties lives. Please use this site to learn more about the MWSRP's causes. The team hopes you will want to get together and raise funds to help us achieve our goals.
Fundraising at school
Get together with friends who you know share your passion and agree among yourselves that you are going to do something to raise funds. Then go to a teacher who you think may be willing to help you.
Your teacher will be able to tell you the best way forward and help you decide how you will raise funds. There are many ways you can do this.

Raising Funds Online - Using Justgiving.com
The MWSRP has teamed up with justgiving.com so that all our fundraisers can raise money quickly and easily online.
What is Justgiving?
Justgiving is a website that enables you to raise money for your favourite cause online. You simply follow a step- by-step process and before you know it you have created your very own fundraising page.
Why use Justgiving?
Setting up a fundraising page with Justgiving is quick, easy and free, and making donations is 100% secure. Receiving donations from Justgiving is tax efficient for the MWSRP and reduces our administration costs.
Tell your friends and family about your page and they will be able to donate online with a credit or debit card - so no more running around with paper sponsorship forms, or chasing cheques and cash after your event.
How to use Justgiving
To set up your page today visit www.justgiving.com/maldiveswhalesshark or call justgiving.com on 0800 028 6183 for more details.
Use Justgiving to fundraise when you
- take part in a sponsored event - or create your own.
- celebrate your wedding. Asking people to donate to MWSRP on Justgiving makes a truly green wedding list!
- celebrate your birthday.
- wish to raise money in memory of a loved one.
Tips on making the most of your fundraising page
- Personalise your page as much as possible: Add photos and write a personalised message.
- Email your close friends first. They tend to be more generous and encourage future donors to give more.
- Contact your local paper, radio and TV stations and tell them about your fundraising efforts.
- Justgiving has a widget that helps you spread the word on social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace.
- If you are completing an event, write to your friends again with an update on your activities after the completion of the event, as about 20% of donations on Justgiving come in after the event has taken place.
